Grief is a universal experience, yet it can feel profoundly isolating. When we lose someone we love, the emotional turmoil can be overwhelming. Many people seek comfort and understanding during these difficult times, and one avenue that has gained attention is evidential mediumship. This practice offers insights and connections that can help individuals navigate their grief. In this post, we will explore how evidential mediumship can provide solace and understanding in the face of loss.

Grief Does Not Follow a Straight Line
Grief is not something you simply “get over,” and it does not unfold in the same way for everyone. Some days may feel peaceful, while others may bring sadness, anger, longing, guilt, or unexpected waves of emotion.
There is no perfect timeline for grief.
You may miss the sound of someone’s voice, the way they laughed, the advice they gave, or the everyday moments you shared. You may also carry questions, unfinished conversations, or a desire to know that they are okay.
A mediumship reading cannot take away the pain of loss, but it can offer a moment of connection and comfort within the grief.
What Is Evidential Mediumship?
Evidential mediumship is the practice of connecting with loved ones in spirit and bringing through specific information that helps validate who is coming forward.
This may include personality traits, relationships, memories, meaningful objects, phrases, habits, life details, or messages that feel personal to you. At times, I may also sense information around how someone passed. When that comes through, I share it gently and with sensitivity, always with the intention of bringing understanding, validation, and peace.
Because my work is evidential, I do not want you to give me a lot of information before or during a reading. If I ask a clarifying question, I only ask for a simple yes or no answer. This allows me to continue receiving and sharing the details rather than having you explain or fill in the blanks.
How Mediumship Can Support Someone Who Is Grieving
Mediumship is not a replacement for grief support, counseling, or your own healing process. But for many people, it can be a meaningful part of feeling connected and supported.
A reading may help by bringing forward:
Details that remind you of your loved one’s personality
Memories or shared moments that feel meaningful
Messages of love, reassurance, or peace
A sense that your connection has not ended
Comfort during a season of loss or transition
Sometimes the most comforting part of a reading is not one big message, but the small details, the things that feel specific, familiar, and true to the person you love.
Mediumship Is Not About Forcing Closure
People often use the word “closure,” but grief is more complex than that. You may not feel closed off from your loved one, and you may not want to “move on” in the way the world sometimes expects.
Mediumship is not about closing the door.
It is about honoring the love that remains.
A reading can offer reassurance, connection, and peace, but it does not require you to stop missing your person. Love and grief often exist together. Mediumship can simply create a space where that love can still be felt.
What to Expect During a Reading
During a reading, I share what I receive with compassion and honesty. You are welcome to answer yes, no, or I don’t know. You do not need to give me background information or explain the meaning of everything as it comes through.
Sometimes information makes sense immediately. Sometimes it becomes clear later after you have had time to reflect or speak with family. And sometimes something may not resonate. That is okay. The purpose is not to force meaning, but to allow the connection to unfold naturally and respectfully.
A session may bring tears, laughter, quiet reflection, or a sense of peace. Every reading is different, but my intention is always the same: to create a calm, supportive space where you feel safe, respected, and connected.
If You Are Grieving and Considering a Reading
If you are thinking about booking a mediumship reading, give yourself permission to come exactly as you are. You do not need to be composed. You do not need to know the right questions to ask. You do not need to prepare a full story.
Simply find a quiet space, take a breath, and come with an open heart.
You are welcome to hold the intention of connecting with a specific loved one, though I cannot guarantee who will come through. I trust the process and share what I receive as clearly and respectfully as I can.
The Heart of This Work
Grief reminds us how deeply we have loved. Mediumship does not remove that grief, but it can offer comfort within it.
It can remind you of the personality, memories, and love that made your connection real. It can bring forward details that feel familiar and meaningful. It can offer reassurance that the bond you shared still matters.
At Heart & Spirit, each reading is held with compassion, integrity, and care.
You are not alone.
Love continues.
And connection can still be felt.
